Ah, yes, that makes sense, thank you, Hans. And agreed, ’tis best to be over-cautious with these dazzling displays. Once noticed, I try to aim the camera without looking directly at the area again, and just crop the photo later. A bit of a hit-or-miss approach, but better than risking the eye that still sees fairly well!
