Frank Sennholz says:
Hahaha, Laurence, I just remember being aboard an aircraft, not drinking anything, altitude: about 35000 ft! The summits were looking through all those clouds… my English is not good enough to put the feelings into words, so taking pictures and sharing them seems to be the better way!

Laurence Green says:
Frank, pleane don’t take this the wrong way, ok, but were you per chamce a’drinking when you took this photo when, as you say, “I sometimes don’t rally know where I am!” ?!!? I hope you were not legless… Seriously, I think not given the altitude and hazards of venturing up so high. Were you atop of Mont Blanc? That’s a huge and dramatic climb – and not for amateurs or faint hearts, to say least.
Best wishes and thanks again for the lovely photo. Happy climbing!

Hello Anne-Marie, sorry, when I am taking pictures I sometimes don’t really know where I am! So I cannot put any name…
-
Anne-Marie de la Haye says:
Fantastic! Would it be possible to put a name, at elast on one of these summits?

Hi Laurence and Anthony, I shot this image with my old 5-MP-camera, and it’s stiched of 6 single pictures (3 in the upper row, 3 in the lower one). I just wanted to capture most of the huge, awesome stormcloud and I wish I could have photographed all around me… There were SEVERAL cumulonimbus like this one! The cyclist got home warm, but I guess he didn’t stay dry. He met the cumulonimbus we have been through just before…

Huge, dramatic sky, highlighted by perfect timing and composition!

Laurence Green says:
A very good shot, Frank, and I like the way you have captured the cyclist peddling like billy-ho to get ahead of the rainstorm quickly following up from behind. Did he outpace it and get home warm and dry?!? I also like the lovely sense of big depth and open space in the photo.
Laurence
