Thunderhead

All life is still.
No breeze.
In breathless sky the
towering giant draped
with odd green curtains.
Top high as airliners fly.
Bottom gray with rain far away.
Light flash flickers from top to bottom.
Small breeze,
crashing blast.
Sudden sweeping wind
rips across plains driving.
Raging power unleashed.
Bow before this force of nature,
this pagan God.
